Easily digested foods are low in calories and they are quickly broken down by our digestive system. We have listed them here.
Diet plays an important role in maintaining the health of an individual. No matter whether you're suffering from digestive disorder or not, you should make foods that are easily digested in order to improve your digestive health.
Such food items are quickly broken down by the digestive system and are then eliminated smoothly. They also enhance the activity of digestive enzymes, thereby helping them to convert the complex molecules to simpler ones which can be excreted easily by your body.
You can either cook the food items or have them raw. Steam or boil the vegetables to retain their nutritional value. Another option is to stir fry them in olive oil and cook without adding excessive spices.
Prepare light dishes so that you do not feel bloated after eating. You can have fruit and vegetable juices.

List of Easily Digestible Foods

Rich in Soluble Fibers

Healthy foods should contain adequate combination of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fibers.
However, since we are restricting ourselves to the most easily digestible foods, only soluble fibers rich foods are preffered.
Apples, pears and prunes contain soluble fibers which are acted upon by digestive enzymes and then they get eliminated smoothly from the body (i.e. they solve constipation problems).

Complex Carbohydrates

The sources of carbohydrates should be natural and not refined products. Complex carbohydrates are beneficial for the body while simple carbohydrates are extremely harmful.
Complex ones increase blood glucose level and also take longer time for digestion. E.g. beans, legumes, nuts, and seeds.

Minimum Fats

To be precise, the most easily digestible foods are either devoid of fat or contain minimum amount fat. Fats that are broken down quickly are the unsaturated group of fatty acids. Unsaturated fat foods include fatty fish such as salmon, olive oil etc.
Doctors also recommend moderate consumption of poly and monounsaturated fatty acids. Avoid lactose rich foods when you have digestion problems. One more important aspect is the fiber content of foods.

Other Food Items

Fruits and vegetables are strongly recommended if you have a weak digestive system. They are rich sources of proteins and complex carbohydrates, which provide energy to your body to perform various physical activities.
The list of the most easily digestible foods are oatmeal, corns, potatoes, carrots, yogurt, flax seeds, sauerkraut, figs, banana, grapefruits etc.
