These days, most of us lead a busy life, which gives us very less time to prepare breakfast. And if we want to avoid those high-carb bagels and muffins, then it's a task at hand every morning. We give you some low-carb breakfast options that you can opt for, while on the go.
In low-carb diets, you're recommended curbed consumption of carbohydrates for quicker weight loss or for weight control. Foods rich in proteins, vegetables, and fruits replace carbohydrates. Coming up with ideas to prepare low-carb meals may not always be an easy task.
At the same time, making an elaborate breakfast is not possible when you are running late for work. But with a number of ideas available, you will be able to make breakfast that is low in carbs even when you've got time constraints.

Low-carb Breakfast Ideas

These days, a lot of people are turning towards low-carb diets. It can either be for weight loss or weight control. Contrary to common belief, there are a number of foods which one can make use of to put together a healthy, low-calorie breakfast.

Fruit Bowl

When you know you have to go to work early the next day, you can cut a few fruits the night before, to have as breakfast in the morning. Alternatively, you can also have fruits like apples, pears, etc., while you are on your way to work.
The other fruits which you can choose from include oranges, sweet limes, grapefruit, grapes, figs, etc., as a part of low-carb foods and snacks. If you like juice, then you can also have orange juice, sweet lime juice, etc.

Fruit shakes are among interesting healthy breakfast options. You can make shakes using fresh fruits like apples, bananas, etc. Dry fruit shakes also make for a filling drink. You can choose to make shake with protein powder of different flavors, so that you are not bored.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a great and filling low-carb food. You can choose to make buttermilk with yogurt or mix it with chopped fruits, berries, or chopped nuts.

Breads

If you like baking, you can choose to bake low-carb breads at home. Along with breads, you can also bake muffins with biscuits. You can make use of flax meal, almond meal, soy powder, etc., to ensure that the calories are minimal. Bake them over the weekend so that you can have it for a few days in the next week.

Pancakes

Flax meal, almond meal, etc., can be used to make pancakes when you are watching those calories. Mix the pancake mix with water, egg, berries, etc., to have a different-tasting pancake. You can also put low-fat cheese, peanut butter, etc., in the pancakes.

Frittata

Frittata is an egg dish that resembles an omelet but is much easier to make. Mix all the leftover vegetables/meat with eggs to make frittata. This ensures you do not waste food, and you end up making something yummy with the leftover food.

Sausage, Steak and Bacon

Although bacon may not be the healthiest option to have as breakfast, you can choose to have it once a week. On the other days, you can choose between sausage and steak. It is best to combine it with some vegetables or eggs to make a meal out of them.

Low-carb Cereals

Combine cereals with soy milk and fruits to kick start the day. Flavored protein powder can also be added to the cereal so that you are not hungry till lunch time.

Low-fat Waffles

You can choose to get the low-carb waffle mix from the market. There are a number of flavors available from which you can choose to make an interesting breakfast.
With these ideas, you will not have to skip the most important meal of the day. You can also be creative and alternate between the different ideas mentioned in this write-up. It is important that you do not skip carbohydrates completely from your diet as they are important for proper functioning of the body. A minimum amount of carbohydrates should be had throughout the day.
