Healthy food has become a common look out for most people all around the world. And why not, with the number of different diseases on the rise, eating nutritious food is one of the vital requirements for a healthy and ailment-free living. Some of the healthy food options are enlisted below.

Steaks with Salsa Sauce

  • Plum Tomatoes, (diced) 2
  • Steaks, (½ inch thick) 8 oz.
  • Fresh Cilantro, (chopped) 1 tbsp.
  • Lime Juice, 2 tsp.
  • Extra-virgin Olive Oil, 1 tsp.
  • Chili Powder, 1 tsp.
  • Kosher Salt, (divided) ½ tsp.

Dust both sides of the steak with chili powder and salt. Put a skillet over medium high flame and heat the olive oil. Once heated, add the steaks and cook. At an interval of 1 - 2 minutes, flip the sides and cook again. Having done that, place the steaks on a separate plate and cover them with a foil.
Now, it is time to prepare the salsa. Make a mix of tomatoes, lime juice, and the remaining amount of salt, and cook in the pan. Stir often, until the tomatoes soften. Remove from the pan and add the cilantro. Serve the cooked steaks with salsa.

Spicy Chicken Gravy

  • Garlic Cloves, (minced) 3
  • Red Bell Pepper, (sliced) 1
  • Green Bell Pepper, (sliced) ½
  • Chicken Breasts, (skinless and boneless) 1½ lb.
  • Tomatoes, (chopped) 1 cup
  • Cilantro, (chopped) 3 tbsp.
  • Hot Spices, 2 tbsp.
  • Vegetable Oil, 2 tbsp.
  • Ground Cumin, 2 tsp.
  • Ground Turmeric, 1 tsp.
  • Ginger, ½ tsp.
  • Chillies

Stir fry the mix of hot spices, cumin, mustard seeds, and turmeric for a minute. Stir in the onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook until the onion softens.
Add the pepper and chillies, and cook for 5 more minutes. Increase the heat and add the chicken. Cook until it turns brown. Now add the cilantro and tomatoes, and reduce the heat to medium. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Serve hot.

Macaroni Cheese Casserole

  • Onion, (chopped) 1
  • Cream Cheese, 1 small packet
  • Campbell's Cream of Celery Soup, 1 can
  • Tuna, 1 can
  • Macaroni, 2 cups
  • Grape Nuts, ¼ cup
  • Dry Mustard, ½ tsp.
  • Milk, ¼ cup
  • Butter, 2 tbsp.
  • Garlic, ½ tsp.

Cook the macaroni as per the instructions on the package. Make a smooth mixture of Campbell's cream, cream cheese, and milk. Add tuna, garlic, dry mustard, and onion. Now, stir in the cooked macaroni. Melt the butter and add some grape nuts.
Spread this mixture over the top of the casserole. Now all you have to do is bake the mixture in an oven for 45 minutes at 350° F.

Baked Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese

  • Chicken Breasts, (skinless or boneless) 4
  • Plum Tomatoes, 2 cups
  • Basil Pesto, ½ cup
  • Mozzarella Cheese, ½ cup

Before starting off, preheat the oven to 400° F. Toss chicken and pesto in a bowl.
Cover the cookie sheet with a foil and bake the chicken for 20 - 25 minutes. Top the chicken with tomato slices and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for another 3 - 5 minutes and serve it hot.

Corn Muffin with Cream

  • Eggs, (beaten) 2
  • Dry Corn Muffin Mix, 1 packet
  • Whole Kernel Corn, (drained) 1 can
  • Cream-style Corn, 1 can
  • Sour Cream, 1 container
  • Butter, (melted) ¾ cup

Preheat the oven to 350º F. Make a mix of all the ingredients mentioned above and pour in a baking pan. Bake for 35 - 45 minutes.

Mashed Potatoes with Cream

  • Yukon Gold Potatoes, (peeled and diced) 4 lb.
  • Heavy Cream, 2 cups
  • Butter, 3 tbsp.
  • Chives, (chopped) 3 tbsp.
  • Salt and Pepper, as per taste

First, immerse the potatoes in a large pot containing cold water. Add 2 tbsp. of salt. Put the pot over medium-heat and bring the potatoes to boil until tender, and drain well. Add butter and cream in a saucepan. Now, mash the boiled potatoes until they become smooth.
Add the cream and butter mixture and season with salt and pepper. Mix well while adding the chives.

Baked Chicken with Rice

  • Chicken Breasts, (boneless and skinless) 4
  • Salsa, 1 jar
  • Monterey Jack Cheese, 1 packet

Cover the chicken breasts with salsa. Place the pieces in a pan and cover them with a foil. Bake for about 25 min at 350° F. Cover each chicken piece with cheese. Bake again for 5 - 10 minutes, until the cheese melts. Serve it hot with rice and tortilla chips.

Baked Beans Casserole

  • Sweet Onion, (chopped) 1
  • Baked Beans, 2 cans
  • Chili Sauce, 1 bottle (12 oz.)
  • Bacon, 1 lb.
  • Brown Sugar, 2 cups

Cook bacon in a skillet over medium-heat until it turns brown. Preheat the oven at 350° F. Mix the beans, chili sauce, onion, brown sugar, and bacon in a separate bowl and pour it into a casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes - 1 hour and serve it hot.

Beef Bouillon with Green Beans

  • Beef Bouillon, 1 cube
  • Green Beans, 15 oz.
  • Worcestershire Sauce, 1 tbsp.
  • Butter, 1 tbsp.
  • Soy Sauce, 1 tsp.
  • Garlic Pepper Seasoning, 1 pinch

First you would have to drain the beans and reserve ½ of the liquid. In this liquid, dissolve the beef. Add the beans and liquid in a saucepan and then add the two sauces, butter, and garlic pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 15 minutes. Transfer this to a serving bowl and leave the beans resting in the liquid.

Beef Chuck Roast with Dry Onion Soup

  • Jellied Cranberry Sauce, 16 oz.
  • Dry Onion Soup Mix, 1 oz.
  • Beef Chuck Roast, 3 lb.
  • Butter, 2 tbsp.
  • All-purpose Flour, 2 tbsp.

Fill the bottom of the slow cooker with the onion soup mix.
Add the roast to the cooker and top it up with cranberry sauce. Cover and cook. Transfer the roast to a separate plate and set the cooker to high. Mix the butter and flour, and add it to the liquid left in the cooker. This would create a thick gravy. Serve hot with the roast.
