One of the most famous types of French breads, a baguette, is nothing but a long and thin loaf of bread. It is basically made using lean dough (as per the definition of the French law). This bread is distinguished by its shape, length, crispness of its crust, and the slits and cuts that are formed on it. The standard baguette is about 60 cm long and has a 5 cm to 6 cm diameter. A typical Parisian baguette weighs about 8.8 oz. However, the weight of a baguette is not regulated in France.
